November turns our attention to the act of giving thanks and cultivating gratitude. Thanksgiving is not only a holiday on the calendar it is an invitation to pause and notice the good that lives quietly in our daily routines. And despite the business of the season, a spirit of gratitude can still deeply root us.

This time of year often brings both warmth and stress: planning, cooking, coordinating, missing people we love, or feeling the weight of expectations. Amid all of that, gratitude becomes a grounding practice — not something we force, but something we gently uncover.

Today, I’m practicing simple gratitude. For breath. For movement. For the ability to reset, even in small ways. For the people who show up in my life, on and off the mat. For the communities we build no matter where we are.

If this season feels heavy for you, try this gentle practice:

A Moment of Gratitude

Place one hand over your heart and take a slow breath in.

As you exhale, name one thing — big or tiny — that brings you comfort.

Repeat for three breaths.

Gratitude doesn’t ignore life’s challenges; it simply helps us stay anchored within them. Wishing you warmth, steadiness, and moments of quiet appreciation this Thanksgiving.
