Welcoming Autumn

There’s something about September that invites us to slow down and notice the transition happening around us. The days are getting shorter, the air is becoming crisp, and the landscape is beginning its quiet shift toward autumn.
It’s a good time to make a few gentle adjustments of our own. Get outside and enjoy the cooler air. Reach for seasonal foods like apples, pears, squash, and root vegetables. Add a few warming spices like cinnamon or ginger to your meals. And as daylight begins to fade earlier, give yourself permission to settle into a rhythm that supports more rest and reflection.
But transitions aren't always as simple as changing our wardrobe or swapping summer produce for fall favorites. Life has its own transitions—some expected, some chosen, and some that simply happen to us. They can leave us feeling excited, uncertain, overwhelmed, or a little bit of everything at once.
Maybe the invitation this season is to resist the urge to rush through those changes.
We can pause, take a breath, and notice where we are right now. We don't have to have the next season completely figured out before we allow ourselves to enjoy the one we're in.
